Hello everyone, we left this afternoon on an 11 Day Open Lower Banks/ Ridge Trip with a great group of fish killers. Loaded up on some nice sardines for our bait and are under way making our way south. We'll be traveling for the next few days doing our fishing seminar and getting everyone rigged up for the trip. We'll check back in tomorrow with an update. Wish us luck

Hey everyone,

Captain Brian here. Dd a tackle seminar this morning to start the day after breakfast.  After the seminar we've been busy getting everyone rigged up and ready to go. We'll be putting our final touches tomorrow before we start fishing tomorrow afternoon. Still have good weather and hoping it holds up for us. See ya later and check back tomorrow.

TRIP 22-37 LOWER BANKS/RIDGE "UPDATE"

by Brian Pifer, 12-09-2022

Hi everyone, well we've been traveling the last few days and making sure our gear is ready to go. We arrived on the upper end of the ridge for very little sign and kept rolling down in hopes for some wahoo. Never connected throughout the day. But we are going to start tomorrow morning on the lower banks. We have high hopes for the next few days focusing on the big yellowfin tuna. Water temp and conditions look to be good. We will check back with an update tomorrow. Wish us luck:)

Hi everyone, we are checking in from the lower banks. We arrived early this morning around 0430 and got our anchor down.  Saw lots of bait and tank up on green mackeral pretty fast. Once the sun came up and started fishing for yellowfin tuna we saw decent sign or birds, marlin, and tuna splashing around us. We hooked one tuna and landed one tuna for our day. Very tough to get a bite. Conditions weren't ideal either. Very little current making it hard to get a bait away from boat. But tomorrow we are going to try again in hopes of better conditions and more bites.

Hey everyone, checking back in from the lower banks. Spent the night loaded up on some mackeral again last night and gave it our all. Had a couple opportunities first thing in the morning around 0600. Had 2 bites and landed one. Jonna Plante got a 275 yellowfin tuna. Didn't seen much after that and bailed around 1100. Checked out the Morgan for a few 40 pound yellowtail and grouper. We are going to travel tonight and be somewhere on the ridge tomorrow morning.

TRIP 22-37 LOWER BANKS/RIDGE "UPDATE"

by Brian Pifer, 12-11-2022

Hi everyone, we've been trying lots of spots along the ridge today. Started on the lower end of things hoping to catch some yellowtail but it didn't work out the way we wanted. Conditions and other boats gear made things tough for us. We ran up to the 23 late and had a little sample of smaller yellowfin tuna before the sun went down. We are going to be traveling up tonight to be in position on the upper end for some more yellowtail and tuna. We'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

Hi everyone, we're checking in from the upper end of ridge. It was as good as it gets today. Very good action on yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. Flyline 30lb was the go to, but the guys that were fishing poppers, colt snipers and surface irons were having a blast. The tuna were mostly 10-18lbs with some 20-40 pounders in the mix. The yellowtail were about the same grade with some standouts also. Very action packed day, we are stoked. Gonna try again tomorrow

by Brian Pifer, 12-13-2022

Hey everyone checking in from the ridge. We ended up taking off mid morning. Stay tuned

Hi everyone, we took the chance to look at a new area and it paid off for us. Found bluefin first thing in the morning. Didn't really know what to expect on the size of fish and think we were under gunned for a bit. Saw very good sign of 50 to 100 pound fish all day. Definitely had some opportunities and lost a few but ended up with 14 bluefin. Hoping they want to bite at night on flatfalls and knife jigs. Wish us luck

Hey everyone, we're checking in from fishing bluefin today. A little different sign wise. We didn't see as much volume as we did yesterday but still plenty of sign around. We ended up with 6 50-100 pound bluefin to end our 11 day trip today. Thank you everyone for making it a great trip.
