trip 21-18A awesom blue fin
The great fishing continues out here on the bluefin grounds. We have been fishing around the clock and we have put together a great catch thus far on 50-70 pound fish with a few over 100 pounds. The weather has been sublime for the most part and the group is getting ample opportunity. We got today and a few hours tonight before we have to call it. We are hoping to keep this pace up and keep reeling in the fun. Matt and Independence crew

trip 21-18B Rusty Hooks Beginning
We left on our Rusty Hook 4 Day Trip yesterday afternoon. Traveled to the bluefin tuna area and arrived later evening to see fish everywhere but hard to get a bite. We flatfalled all night for 11 fish 2 being over 100lbs. Starting our morning in the same area and couldn't believe the amount of fish around. Seems like the whole fleet is having a problem getting bites. We have 9 fish for our day and are hoping for a big hit tonight. Wish us luck!
trip 21-18B GREAT START
Decent day on yellowfin /bluefin tuna fishing today. The guys and gales had 34 mixed fish and are hoping to catch a few more tonight. We are going to try for yellowtail tomorrow to finish up the trip.
Trip 21-18B Final day
Fished our trip with 60 yellowtail and 1 halibut. Very fun fishing overall today. Lots of action on the surface iron and fly line. The group had a blast.

trip 21-19 Avet Reels-open
Left yesterday on our Avet 7 Day Trip with a great group of guys. Traveled all day today for nothing in our travels except beautiful weather. The guys are pumped up and excited to go fishing tomorrow. We're hoping the fish are waiting with their mouths open. We'll give you an update tomorrow.
trip 21-19
We arrived to our destination around 930 this morning for not much sign around. Made the tour and decided to keep heading south. Saw good sign of yellowfin tuna and yellowtail but for some reason they didn't want to bite the hooks. Very tough fishing. Ended the day with 60 yellowtail, 20 yellowfin, and 12 dorado. Gonna try again tomorrow and hoping for the right conditions.
GOOD FISHING
ANOTHER GOOD DAY
We had a decent morning of fishing to start our day. Had a surprise of Wahoo showing up as well. We took a look around to try and catch a few more but it was short lived. Looked at a different spot that no one rarely fishes but wasn't rewarded. We had 40 Yellowtail, 55 Yellowfin Tuna and 6 Wahoo. Working up the line to position ourselves of one last day of fishing.

trip 21-19 last day of fishing
Our last day of fishing was a success. Woke up on the anchor in beautiful calm weather and hungry yellowtail. Good action on the surface iron and yoyo jigs. Guys had fun pulling in 70 yellowtail for our morning. Going to start traveling up the coast and head for home. We all had a blast this trip with a really good group of guys.

trip 21-20
We made a move from the yellowtail and wahoo and we are shifting gears towards tuna. We ended up with a great catch of yellowtail and some big wahoo to go with it. We have been traveling up in great weather and we stumbled upon a nice kelp loaded with dorado and yellowfin. It was a great way to break up the ride and let the guys pull on the acrobatic mahi. We are working up all the time and we will be in the bluefin zone this afternoon. Hopefully our timing is good. Wish us luck Matt and Independence crew

ON THE WAY HOME
We ended up with a catch of Bluefin Tuna yesterday with some standouts up to 185 pounds. Lots of fish up and a reward was given for the hard work. We decided to try for Yellowtail today and saw plenty of fish that seemed to be in a funk. We got but a sample for our effort but was not for lack of effort. We are headed in now and the group was jovial throughout the trip to say the least. We had a good amount of fun throughout the trip and looking forward to seeing the group again next year. Until then thank you very much. Matt and Independence crew.
