Procoat 3 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-01-2024

Some epic battles went down last night. Lots of fish from 100-160 pounds with a few 40-60 pounders mixed in. We are going to try and get some during the day if they show themselves. Good start so far

Procoat 3 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-01-2024

Very good sign throughout the day of mixed fish. Some schools boil up but very hard to get a bite or catch anything. Captain Brian and the guys are going to give it all they got tonight and try to repeat last nights catch. Stay tuned

Procoat 3 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-02-2024

Another good night on these larger models. These things are mean and make for an epic long battle. Make sure you have the right gear. Heavy rail rod, a 2 speed reel that is a larger size with 100 plus pound spooled up and a variety of jigs for different conditions.

Procoat 3 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-03-2024

Daytime blood bath. We made an 85-mile move to get more fishing time in, and it paid off. We had decent action before the sun went down on 18-30 pound fish. We managed some fish in the dark as well before calling it a trip. We ended up with over 90 bluefin and half of them over 100 pounds. Thank you, Mike Mayhue and everyone, for an epic trip.

Young's Tackle 3 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-04-2024

We arrived to the big fish zone right at dark. Took a little while to find a school to stop on, but throughout the night we stopped several times and scratched a night together. It seemed like their wasn't as much fish seen as the last few trips. Not sure if the fish were down or they moved and we couldn't locate the meat of them. We are making a move into the other zone to set ourselves up with a better opportunity. Hope our plan works out

Young's Tackle 3 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-04-2024

Happy 4th of July. We've been enjoying our day with some action on flyline baits and beautiful weather. We saw incredible sign all day today so we are hopeful for tonight.

Young's Tackle 3 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-05-2024

Couple good schools last night on 60-80 pound fish. Very fortunate of what we caught because not a lot was seen nor caught. We've been looking all over this morning and still can't locate these bluefin. We've had a kelp for a couple nice yellowtail so far. The day isn't over yet.

Captain Roy and the guys had some action on big fish last night. They'll be around ruring the day, hoping to get some daytime bites. Good luck boys

Sherman's 4 Day

Graftech/Avet 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-11-2024

Good morning, everyone. we left yesterday on our annual Graftech Rods/Avet Reels 8 Day with Rick Ozaki and a great group of people. With a lot of returned customers and a few new faces on the trip, we are all excited to start fishing. Rick had a great raffle/giveaways last night with everyone winning at least something, whether it was a rod or a reel, and much more tackle to go along. Today, Captain Brian will be doing his tackle seminar explaining mostly about wahoo fishing, yellowfin tuna, and yellowtail. We will be getting everyone's tackle in order to start fishing tomorrow. We have beautiful weather and great company traveling down.

Graftech/Avet 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-13-2024

We've been having a great trip so far. Wahoo are on the chew, the yellowfin tuna are 50-60 pounds, and the yellowtail decided to bite this morning. Overall epic fishing going on in flat, calm weather. We are going to try again tomorrow

Graftech/Avet 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-16-2024

What an epic day of WSB fishing along with yellowtail, halibut, gaint calico bass, and huge sheepshead. It was wide open. Everyone had a blast. We are heading up to try and pick off a kelp before calling it a trip.

Graftech/Avet 8 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-17-2024

We were unable to locate a kelp before calling it a trip this afternoon. Everyone broke down the rest of they're gear and the crew cleaned the boat top to bottom. Overall, seemed like everyone enjoyed their time and had a successful trip. We want to thank Rick Ozaki, Allen Smith, Graftech, Avet, and everyone that joined us this year. 0500 eta tomorrow morning

Tahoe Tuna 8 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-20-2024

We left on our annual Tahoe Tuna 8 Day yesterday afternoon. We loaded our bait for the trio and took off for down south. This morning Captain Brian did a tackle seminar after breakfast. He went over wahoo fishing, tuna fishing, yellowtail style fishing, and the troll. After finishing up on the seminar Tom Pierson did his giveaways with tricked out Cal Sheet Penn Fathom and custom rapped rods. Coach Bill and Johney were a couple lucky winners of the reels. But everyone got a goody bag and some swag to go along with everything else. We will be getting down to business today getting everyone rigged up ready to go for tomorrow.

Tahoe Tuna 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-20-2024

Good start to the trip. We managed to snag a few wahoo on the troll before the tuna show started. We scratched at this beautiful grade 40-60lb yellowfin tuna throughout the afternoon. We are going to hold tight and try it again tomorrow.

Tahoe Tuna 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-21-2024

The guys put in time at the rail throughout the night trying for yellowtail. Those who stayed up picked at some 30-45lb yellows. The tuna showed up for short periods throughout the morning and never really gave us a shot. We managed to catch a few nice ones before they vanished. The wahoo on the other had got pretty aggressive in the afternoon. We are going to make a move and try a different area tomorrow, hoping for more wahoo, tuna, and yellowtail.

Awesome day of yellowtail fishing. Seemed like all techniques were working. We had a few grouper and dorado in the mix as well. Overall, it was a good grade of fish. We are going to try a different area but same species tomorrow

Tahoe Tuna 8 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-23-2024

It's as good as it gets yellowfin tuna fishing. They were chewing the paint off the boat. 75% of what we caught were 50-70lbs, with the other 25% being 18-30lbs. Poppers, sureface irons, skip jigs, flyline, whatever you threw in, it was bit.

Tahoe Tuna 8 Day

by Indy Crew, 7-25-2024

Another epic day of fishing for our afternoon. We made a long move but it paid off. We caught some nice calico bass, big sheepshead, and to top it off, some white sea bass. We are calling it a trip. Chef Ed has prepared us with a yellowtail dinner and a sushi spread from Rolo. One for the books. What a trip the Tahoe Tuna Club had.

Tackle Express 4 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-26-2024

We are off on our Tackle Express and Brett Edmondson 4 Day. We loaded our anglers and stopped by the bait receivers to top off our tanks for the trip. Captain Brian did a safety speech and tackle seminar, once leaving the harbor. Once Brian was done Brett and James did their raffle and giveaways with some stellar prizes. Rods, reels, shirts, jigs, etc.

Tackle Express 4 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-27-2024

Our first night out we had decent action on big fish. We've been fishing this morning for a few bites as well on smaller grade fish. Hoping to get some action on the kite and flyline sardines

Tackle Express 4 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-28-2024

Good daytime action on smaller grade bluefin yesterday. Last night we had some good schools and good opportunities on big fish.

Tackle Express 4 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-28-2024

Pretty impressive sign of fish throughout the day. We were able to pick away at these nicer grade bluefin. Nat Geo jacuzzi foamers and flat spots eating pin chovy. This is our last night to put in work. Hopefully, everyone isn't too tired.

Tackle Express 4 Day

by Brian Pifer, 7-29-2024

What a finish to the trip the Tackle Express 4 Day. We had an epic drift for 5 hours of nonstop action on the kite, flyline baits, and sinker rigs. Most of our fish were over 100 pounds. Unfortunately we are calling it a trip but it was a good one. Thank you Brett, Tackle Express, the sponsors and everyone for coming out.

4 Day Open

by Brian Pifer, 7-31-2024

We left yesterday afternoon on a 4 Day Open Trip with an awesome group of guys. We headed out for the bluefin grounds and arrived late. Stopped on plenty of fish but couldn't get a bite. Seems like the trend today as well. They're all show and no go. Foamers, breezers, flatspots, you name it, they're floating today but very hard to get a bite. We will keep hitting school to school until we find the right one.
